John Hammond: Find Nedry! Check the vending machines!
Jurassic Puck faced off against the Stars in our second game of the season. The Stars played a strong defensive game, blocking up any passing lanes through the center of the ice. Despite this Jurassic Puck struck first. Adjustments were needed to capitalize on the time of procession which was heavily in the favor of Jurassic Puck, however these didn't come in the 2nd and 3rd period to break the deadlock. The Stars eventually tied the game and took the lead midway through the third period. This was a tight clean game, and we are looking forward to getting some redemption against the Stars when we play them next in mid-February. This lose came down to failing to capitalize on several scoring opportunities and we went into our next game some of the bounces would go our way.
The Screaming Pylonz were on the road in our first meeting of the season. This game was a chippy one and appears to be the start of a rivalry. The game was scoreless after one period. The turning point of the game was when Joe Danger took a penalty on a Pylon as they were coming in 1 on 1. This penalty could have put us down midway through the game, however the penalty kill was very strong and JP scored short-handed nearing the end of the kill. Another quick goal put JP in the driver’s seat. The lead was built up to 5-0 with only a few minutes remaining in the game. Off the face-off #3 received a quick feed and blew past our defenders, (WILL) and scored on the ensuing breakaway to make the score 5-1 with about 2 minutes left in the game. Will has since promised to play shut-down defense and will pay 50+ push-ups for every goal scored the rest of the season (which should be performed with David sitting on his back). This was a closer game than the score suggests a consequence of continued strong play at keeper. The offense came from Terry putting the team on his back scoring a hat-trick and factoring in on nearly every scoring opportunity. Good thing too as Holt blew it on a breakaway, shooting the puck square into the tender’s chest.
Tensions between the teams were high throughout the game. The last minute of the game was run off as a Pylonz player #14 was ejected for arguing with the ref. The physicality of the game, from both teams, was higher than needed for a never-ever league. Having a clear rival is great, but keeping thing cordial is needed too. FYI Record v. Pylons: 3 wins - 2 losses
After a tough game like that, we will all need to rest. Much like Dr. Malcolm.

Dr. Alan Grant: [finding egg shells] Oh my God. Do you know what this is? This is a dinosaur egg. The dinosaurs are breeding.
Tim: But Grandpa said all the dinosaurs were girls.
Dr. Alan Grant: Amphibian DNA.
Game 2: Jurassic Puck at Stars.
After a fast paced season opener, where JP bested the newly formed Donkeys in an 8-2 game, we head into a match-up with the Stars. The Stars are coming off a loss to the Sheep, last season's league champions.
Quickly, a recap of last week's game. The Donkeys played a clean game and featured several very talented players. They found themsleves down early as JP struck early and often in the first period; however, after the first period, the Donkeys settled in for the remainder of the game. JP scored 53 seconds into the game after Taylor and Dennis put a puck on the net and Holt scored on the ensuing rebound. The next line scored off a shot from Larry Lanzetta assisted by Joe Danger. The next two goals were unassisted by Terry and Derek. The Donkeys struck back with a goal of their own late in the 1st. Will then scored a very late goal in the 1st with only seconds remaining to put JP up 5-1 at the end of the 1st. The pace of the game slowed as the Donkeys closed up some defensive gaps. Scoring came from Terry unassisted and Holt on a feed from Will. A late goal from the Donkeys showed some strong drive from this team.
Much like the Donkeys, we have little information regarding the Stars. Unfortunately, our talent scouts are out of the country scouting top-teir talent for us to add to our roster. We are currently looking to ship Joe Danger out to the KHL for some top prospects. The Stars played the Sheep close in the 1st period, leading 1-0 after one period. After that, it appears to be all Sheep. We hope to come out and control the pace of the game early and settle the game down to play to our strengths. We expect to see another strong performance from our goaltender.
Points are well distributed among our team, where more than half of the team registered either a goal or an assist in our first game. Will leads the team with 2 goals and 1 assist, all while continuing to play strong defense. Our centers also played good two way hockey registering at least 1 goal apeice while continuing to come back on D.

"T-Rex doesn't want to be fed. He wants to hunt. Can't just suppress 65 million years of gut instinct."

New season, new name, new jerseys. After a productive 1st season, JP hits the ice on Friday against the newly formed Donkeys. Since we know nothing about our competition wild speculation will be plentiful.
First off, we assume they will all sound very similar to Eddie Murphy in Shrek, thus the chirping will be frequent. Next, ungulates are not known for their ability to dangle. We are working towards a winning season, and step one will be defeating the Donkeys.
We are confident in our team heading into this matchup. Several strong defenders, with a penchant for scoring, such are Larry and Will are returning for another season. Likewise, Cech will continue backstopping for the team, where we expect him to block multiple shots with his head. The Johnson girls will continue to play good two-way hockey. Terry, Holt, and Derek will be leading the offensive push, while proven goal scorers Corey and Nate will be reaping the benefits of the increased speed of the team.
Joe Danger will continue to try real hard.
