Dr. Alan Grant: [finding egg shells] Oh my God. Do you know what this is? This is a dinosaur egg. The dinosaurs are breeding.
Tim: But Grandpa said all the dinosaurs were girls.
Dr. Alan Grant: Amphibian DNA.
Game 2: Jurassic Puck at Stars.
After a fast paced season opener, where JP bested the newly formed Donkeys in an 8-2 game, we head into a match-up with the Stars. The Stars are coming off a loss to the Sheep, last season's league champions.
Quickly, a recap of last week's game. The Donkeys played a clean game and featured several very talented players. They found themsleves down early as JP struck early and often in the first period; however, after the first period, the Donkeys settled in for the remainder of the game. JP scored 53 seconds into the game after Taylor and Dennis put a puck on the net and Holt scored on the ensuing rebound. The next line scored off a shot from Larry Lanzetta assisted by Joe Danger. The next two goals were unassisted by Terry and Derek. The Donkeys struck back with a goal of their own late in the 1st. Will then scored a very late goal in the 1st with only seconds remaining to put JP up 5-1 at the end of the 1st. The pace of the game slowed as the Donkeys closed up some defensive gaps. Scoring came from Terry unassisted and Holt on a feed from Will. A late goal from the Donkeys showed some strong drive from this team.
Much like the Donkeys, we have little information regarding the Stars. Unfortunately, our talent scouts are out of the country scouting top-teir talent for us to add to our roster. We are currently looking to ship Joe Danger out to the KHL for some top prospects. The Stars played the Sheep close in the 1st period, leading 1-0 after one period. After that, it appears to be all Sheep. We hope to come out and control the pace of the game early and settle the game down to play to our strengths. We expect to see another strong performance from our goaltender.
Points are well distributed among our team, where more than half of the team registered either a goal or an assist in our first game. Will leads the team with 2 goals and 1 assist, all while continuing to play strong defense. Our centers also played good two way hockey registering at least 1 goal apeice while continuing to come back on D.
